Our Story

 

Jones Scones were created because J. Jones grew tired of scones that tasted like compressed sand.  After living in London England and Edinburgh, Scotland, he returned to the United States with a longing for scones that noone could seem to satisfy.  Out of sheer desperation (with thanks to Mom for teaching me how to bake as a little Jones), he created the scones he desired. He made them, above all, MOIST, and more cakey than flaky,
with currants, cranberries, blueberries, cinnamon, or chocolate nestled
inside a mouthwateringly attractive crust.

Jones Scones started as a company after the  scones were a hit with  friends and coffee shops in Denver, CO. The plan was, and remains, to spread the word about scones to the uninitiated and scone-scared: those people who have suffered through a dry lump of baked dough masquerading as a scone.  We added brief history and description of scones on this site just to give you a sense of what to expect as a scone connoisseur.

“My wonderful friend, my Food Angel, Amy Muzyka-McGuire told me many moons ago, that a company had to be about something more than just money or product. It took a few years, the purpose for Jones Scones finally became clear...

We are here to Spread the Love. Spread it in as many ways as possible, to as many people as possible. Pure and Simple.

Jones Scones are a lovely way to give people that good feelin'. Food is love people...(remember care packages!?!)”

With that in mind we launched, our Spread the Love program and the rest is history in the making!
